I have a multitude of different postcards sent to me by friends and relatives. My favorites are the maps and the old linen postcards. If one of your ancestors left a postcard collection, you have a built-in source of home addresses with applicable dates either written by the sender or found inside the postmark. This may be invaluable for families that moved a lot, lived in apartments or didn’t purchase real estate.
