My grandmother married one of nine brothers. Four of the sisters-in-law had birthdays in September and many years they celebrated at the same time. This photograph is not from one of those joint celebrations as only one guest is wearing a corsage. I recognize my grandmother and the birthday guest, my great aunt Minnie, but it is a small photograph and even the aunts I knew best are hard to see with much definition. An email blast to my mom’s cousins and my second cousins is the next best solution. So far, some conflicting data, but much agreement. All I need is a direct descendant from of as many of the ladies as I can get, to identify their ancestor. The party took place at Aunt Minnie’s daughter’s house, a fact supplied by her granddaughter.
Several hours later, more cousins heard from, scanning and email makes this process sooooo much easier and faster.
Front Row left to right, Aunt Rose; Aunt Minnie; Aunt Mary
Back Row left to right: Aunt Pearl; Aunt Flora; Aunt Marguerite; Aunt Lil
Aunt Doris was not there that day and Aunt Anne passed away nearly twenty years before this photograph was taken. Still and all, a nice photograph of seven of the ladies without the brothers, their husbands.
